Tikkun Olam/K’lal Yisrael - The Greater Jewish Community

We are committed to the sacred task of promoting social justice and helping those in need, purposefully translating the principles of Judaism into action. Recognizing that all Jews are responsible for one another, we foster a personal connection with the Jewish people in our greater community, Israel and throughout the world.

Council of Churches and Synagogues:

The Council of Churches and Synagogues comprises 110 congregations and affiliate organizations in Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk and Stamford. Formed in 1938, it has been an example of interfaith cooperation, providing programs and activities to foster religious understanding and community support.


Greater New York Council of Reform Synagogues:

Temple Sinai is a member of the New York Region of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations (UAHC), now known as the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) , and takes advantage of the resources of the URJ, participates in various forums, and communicates with other member congregations.


JCC Sara Walker Nursery School at Temple Sinai:

The JCC Nursery School is housed at Temple Sinai, but is administered by the Jewish Community Center. If you are interested, please contact the JCC nursery school office at 322-6541.


Jewish Community Center:

Temple Sinai and the Jewish Community Center participate in a 20/20 program through which a member of one organization can join the other at a 20% off the first year's dues.


Jewish Community Endowment Foundation:

Temple Sinai is a member of the Jewish Community Endowment Foundation, which provides a chance to make charitable donations directed to Jewish charitable organizations.


Shabbat at Atria:

Congregants from Temple Sinai lead an Erev Shabbat Service at the Atria (formerly Wateridge) Seniors Residence every Friday at 4:30 PM.


Shared Shabbat:

Each year, Temple Sinai and Temple Beth El have joint Shabbat Services, with the Friday Evening Service held at one synagogue and the morning service held at the other.


United Jewish Federation of Greater Stamford, Darien and New Canaan:

Temple Sinai is an affiliate of the United Jewish Federation, which raises money for the local Jewish community and for Jews in need throughout the world. It also provides community-wide educational programs.


The Jewish Historical Society of Lower Fairfield County

The Jewish Historical Society of Lower Fairfield County, formerly the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Stamford, is a 19 year old organization whose mission is: To be our community's resource for discovering, explaining, preserving, generating interest in, and enjoying Jewish history.
