Cantor Micah Morgovsky

Cantor Morgovsky received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in 2001 with a major in English and Textual Studies and a minor in Psychology. She spent two years studying in Israel; one at Hebrew University in fulfillment of a junior year study abroad program, and one at the Hebrew Union College, for her first year of cantorial school. Cantor Morgovsky received a Masters of Hebrew Letters in 2005 and was ordained as Cantor in May 2006, both through the Reform movement’s seminary: Hebrew Union College School of Sacred Music. Before joining the Temple Sinai clergy team in Stamford, CT, she served as Cantor and Director of Religious Education at North Country Reform Temple in Glen Cove, Long Island. Originally from New Jersey, Cantor Morgovsky now lives in Riverdale with her husband, Benjamin, their daughter Ayalah and son Jonah.

Cantor Morgovsky serves the Temple Sinai community by leading worship services alongside the rabbi, teaching music and conducting learning services in the religious school. She tutors B’nai Mitzvah students, and leads all of the congregation’s musical programs. She regularly collaborates with other cantors, singers, song leaders, musicians, and arrangers to bring new and creative musical experiences to her own synagogue members and to other communities as well. In addition to her cantorial endeavors, Cantor Morgovsky also enjoys singing secular music, and has organized and performed in several benefit concerts comprised of Broadway repertoire.
