Family Education Program

Family Education Programming: Grades Kindergarten - Third

A wonderful part of our Sunday Religious School program is the family education component. Each grade which does not participate in our Chavurah program offers a family education program once during the year as an opportunity for parents and children to learn together. The programs are developed and run by the classroom teachers. Following are the dates of each of our school family education programs for the 2009-2010, 5770 school year:

Kindergarten:        Sunday, October 4, 2009 - 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. 

First Grade:           Sunday, October 25, 2009 - 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. 

Second Grade:      Sunday, December 6, 2009 - 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. 

B'nai Mitzvah Family Yad Program

Sunday, March 14, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Our 2011 B'nai Mitzvah families will have the opportunity to make their own Yads (Torah pointers) with Israeli artist, Avi Zuckerman. The Yads are made of metal and decorative beads, and each has the Hebrew name of the student worked into the design of the Yad itself. The families will learn about the importance of the Yad and the reason for its use. These Yads will be used by our students at their B'nai Mitzvah ceremonies in 2011.
