Meditation has been demonstrated many times to have significant benefits to physical health. It can help people experiencing disease or chronic pain. Emotionally, it can help regulate feelings, diminishing irritability, assisting people in coping with depression and anxiety, and helping people be less reactive. Spiritually, meditation can deepen one’s connection with the Holy and infuse new meaning into religious practice. Meditation has also been found to increase motivation to do social justice work. Join this six-week course about the basics of mindfulness meditation, with an emphasis on compassion for self and others. No experience necessary. Fee: No charge for temple members; $18 for non-members
