Sandwich Making for New Covenant Center

For February - please deliver sandwiches directly to the New Covenant Center - Andrea will resume deliveries as of 3/2/22

As Covid-19 continues to affect so many in our community and worldwide, there is another battle many are facing...hunger.  Our very own Andrea Greenburg, like so many others at Temple Sinai, is volunteering at New Covenant Center and will be providing sandwiches every Wednesday
As you know, New Covenant Center's mission is to provide nutritious meals to all who are hungry.   So many of you have reached out to me, the Rabbi and the staff asking for ways to help; we are now asking for your help to fulfill this mission.  Every sandwich you make helps one more person stave off hunger!
Since we can't meet to prepare sandwiches together, there are two options for you to prepare and deliver sandwiches:
You can deliver them to Andrea's home at 15 Mayapple Road, Stamford (take a left at the flashing light on High Ridge at Mayapple. Her house is the second drive on the right - at the bottom of the hill) on Tuesdays from 12:00- 4:00 p.m. (she will have a cooler outside). Alternatively, you can drop off the sandwiches at the Temple Sinai parking lot on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m. Andrea will be there for 15 mins. before heading to New Covenant Center.
New Covenant Center has requested tuna, ham, turkey, bologna or PB&J sandwiches. (Andrea has noticed the PB&J gets very gooey and goes all over the bag).
All sandwiches must be:
Fully wrapped (people typically put them in ziplock bags and back in the loaf sleeve the bread comes in)
Fully labeled (type of sandwich)
You can also accompany sandwiches with individually wrapped power bars, chips, cookies, goldfish crackers, bottles of water, etc. though these items are not required.
Temple Sinai has always been engaged in community action.  Let’s continue to lead the way and help those that are hungry obtain a meal.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to Andrea at 203-979-7134 or
Thank you,
